The Elmis company (Belarus) has developed a serial project for modernization of control systems for concrete mixing plants with the capacity of 40 m3 per hour and inplemented it on the Stetter plant (Germany).
The control system provides possible alterations of the Stetter plant layout (for example, from vertical to horizontal) during its assemblage at a new location and takes into account the relevant changes at all levels of the project.
The intellectual part of the control system consists of a Siemens Simatic PLC and a PC-based controller under control of TRACE MODE SCADA software providing a human-mashine interface in the Windows environment.
Due to capabilities of the TRACE MODE development kit, the controller software can be adapted to a joint operation with electric automatic devices being already available, which allows to avoid expensive works on complete re-installation of electric equipment.
In doing so, the Stetter concrete mixing plant has retained all its basic functions but was enabled for personalisation at eventual customer's request, which in the given conditions can be implemented more effectively.
Such approach has brilliantly proven itself in modernization of a Stetter concrete mixing plant of Glavmosstroy-Beton (Moscow, Russia).
This project can also be adapted, to a certain extent, to modernization of concrete mixing plants of other manufacturers.
Due to the project implementation, the customer got an opportunity to launch the foreign equipment and to control it through operator interface in local language. |
